More About Discover Indy
The migration of young college graduates from the Hoosier state - often referred to as the "brain drain" - is a pattern that economic development experts, area employees and politicians are working to reverse. As a group of young professionals, some native hoosiers and many others as transplants, we decided to create a program that we wish had existed when we moved to Indianapolis.
Discover Indy is an annual event for young professionals to get plugged into Indianapolis through a social, yet focused evening. Attendees will meet other young professionals who are new to the metro area, learn more about our city, as well as ways to get involved.
This event was launched in 2014 and has been held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, The Hall, The Athenaeum Foundation and most recently Kiwanis International, where we will return for the 2017 Discovery Indy.
Guest speakers in past years have included Peter Wilt of Indy Eleven, Adam Weber of Bluebridge Digital, and Gerry Dick of Inside INdiana Business. We intend to continue to provide high caliber speakers that can share how their inspiring experiences in the Indianapolis community.
